Edward V. Wortham, 83, passed away on Tuesday June 21st, 2022 at the River Crossing Moline; he was a long time citizen of Rock Island. His funeral services will be Wednesday June 29th at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory Rock Island at 11:00 AM; visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
Edward was born November 25th, 1938 in Shongaloo, Louisiana to his parents James and Bessie (Easley) Wortham.
Edward was a foreman at the John Deere Harvester Works East Moline retiring in 1992 after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Peoples Missionary Baptist Church, Rock Island where he served as a trustee.
He Married Marcia Rose on July 16, 1962 in Rock Island.
He is survived by his wife Marcia, three sons Todd, Rockford, Illinois; Blake, Lacrosse, Wisconsin; Lamont, Rock Island, Illinois; granddaughter Stephanie Tucker; brother Samuel of Norfolk, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Della Harris.
