Edwardo Joseph Gomez passed away at home on September 2, 2025, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by the family he loved. Born on April 19, 1957, in Houston, Edwardo lived a simple life. He was known to family and friends as Edward, Ed, Eddie, Peewee, and Bud.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lucy Piotrowski Gomez; their six children and spouses: Lauren, Adam and James, Kevin, Ian and Andi, Monica and Caleb, and Ethan and fiancée Dawn; his brothers George (with Cindy) and Kiko (with Gloria); his sister Mary; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; friends, and his faithful fur companion, Cocoa.

Edwardo attended Jesse H. Jones High School and went on to earn his Pharmacy degree from the University of Houston. For 45 years, he served his community as a pharmacist-reliable, principled, and deeply committed to his work.

One of Edwardo's greatest joys in life was watching his children grow into individuals of character, compassion, and independence. He was deeply proud of each of them, and their accomplishments brought him quiet fulfillment and lasting pride.

He was a man of habit and humility-rarely without a pen, always ready to help. He loved watching the Astros and Texans, cooking for his family, and sharing moments of laughter that filled the room. His flautas were legendary, his laugh unmistakable, and his work ethic unwavering.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6th at 11:00 AM at Miller Funeral Services 7723 Beechnut Street Houston, TX 77074. Edwardo is being cremated per his wishes. There will be no viewing.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the University of Houston College of Pharmacy, 4349 Martin Luther King Blvd., Houston, Texas 77204-5000, in honor of Edwardo's lifelong dedication to the field.

He will be missed-deeply, daily, and in ways words cannot fully express.
