Edwige Cluet Obituary

Edwige was born in Fontenay Sous Bois, France on September 30, 1924. She married Raymond Cluet in 1943 and had three children. She is survived by son Romain Cluet, his wife Pam Cluet, and grandsons Alexander Cluet, Maxwell Cluet and his wife Kiara Cluet; Daughter Yolande Cluet, her partner Steve Albrecht, granddaughter Anne-Marie Kick, her husband Tyler Morehead, and great grandchildren Rowan, Luca, Noah and Zoey; grandson Brendan Kick and her sister Christiane Glattard.
Edwige was an accomplished seamstress beginning her trade in a Paris dress shop. She later continued dressmaking after moving to Chicago with Raymond to join family. First in a shop near Michigan Avenue and later as a freelancer while raising her children. She shared her skills with the family by making wedding dresses and other fine clothes. Edwige enjoyed knitting and baking and was a wonderful cook. The family always looks forward her Christmas cake the "Buche de Noel".
She was selfless and kind; strong and caring. As a mother she was a pillar of support and encouragement. We will live on guided by her spirit and will miss her company dearly.
