Angeliki Baboulas

Angeliki Baboulas, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away
peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Greek American Rehabilitation Center in
Wheeling, Illinois. She was 91 years old.
Born on September 6, 1934, Angeliki immigrated to the United States from Agoriani,Greece to build a
better life and provide opportunities for her family. She resided in Mt. Prospect, Illinois, for
many years, where she nurtured her family and community with boundless love and hospitality.
For 25 years, Angeliki worked as a dedicated factory worker at ITT Bell & Gossett. Outside of
work, she found her greatest joy in the kitchen. She loved to cook, bake, and feed people,
embodying a spirit of generosity that touched everyone around her. Her home was a
welcoming haven, always filled with the aroma of Greek cooking and the warmth of family love.
Angeliki is survived by her loving husband of seventy years, Athanasios Baboulas; her cherished
daughter Panagiota (Vasilis) Hristakos; her beloved grandchildren, Elena (Demos) Spiropoulos,
Athanasios (Diane) Baboulas, Angeliki (Georgios) Hristakos, and Anastasios (Julie) Hristakos; and
her nine adoring great-grandchildren, Sofia, Costadinos, and Panagiota Spiropoulos, Cristina,
Alexandra, and Thomas Baboulas, Vasileios and Marios Nastakos, and Evangelia Hristakos.
She was preceded in death by her son Christos Baboulas; her parents Panagioti and Panagiota
Bambulas; her brother John Bambulas; her sister Vasiliki Govis; and her brother Nikos
Bambulas.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Matz
Funeral Home, 410 E Rand Rd, Mt Prospect, IL 60056.
The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 11:30 AM at St. John the
Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 2350 E Dempster St, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery and Mausoleum, 2905 Thatcher Ave, River Grove,
IL 60171.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Angeliki's memory to
either The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or the Greater Chicago Food
Depository in Chicago.
