Edwin Audley Obituary
Ed was born on February 24, 1938 in Norwalk, CT and was the son of the late Harry and Ethel Audley. He graduated Staples High School in 1955 and then went on to serve in the US Army where he was stationed in Charlotte, NC from 1955 to 1958 and then he served in the Army reserves as a Senior Aircraft Mechanic until 1962. Ed joined the Westport Police department in 1961, he was promoted to Sergeant in 1976, Lieutenant in 1979, Inspector in 1985, and Captain (second in command) in 1990. He retired from the Westport Police department in 1993. Ed founded the Westport Volunteer Emergency Medical Service in 1979 where he served the community of Westport, becoming Emergency Medical Technician instructor in 1987 to help train the new Volunteer EMT's. Ed was the past president of the Winter Haven Rose Society.
Edwin is survived by his wife Elizabeth Audley of Winter Haven, FL, brother, Harry Audley and his wife Pat of Connecticut, three Daughters, Kimberly Audley of Arkansas, Susan Palmer and her husband Mark of Connecticut and Victoria Audley of Connecticut. He is also survived by four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday July 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM Meeting Directly at Assumption Church 98 Riverside Ave. Westport, CT. Condolences for the family may be left on line at www.hardingfuneral.com
