Edwin Gajewski, 77, of Scheller, Illinois, entered into rest at 3:33 PM, Monday, November 11, 2024 at his residence in Scheller, Illinois. He was born Friday, September, 5, 1947 in Centralia, Illinois to the late Walter and Regina (Rozycki) Gajewski. Edwin married Cathy (Kiselewski) Gajewski on Saturday, October 16, 1971 in Mount Vernon, Illinois at Saint Mary's Parish. They were married for 53 years.
Edwin is survived by his daughter, Chris Lueking and husband, Greg of Woodlawn, Illinois; sons, Eric Gajewski and wife, Amanda of Scheller and Jeremy Gajewski and friend, Jennifer Morgan; grandchildren, Cassandra Lueking and friend, T.J. Parks of Woodlawn, Kiara Richardson and husband, Ryan of Norfolk, Virgina, Callie Lueking and friend, Kyle Schnitker of Woodlawn, and Quinn Gajewski and friend, Alyssa Dawson of Scheller, Hagen Gajewski of Scheller, Emma Gajewski of Scheller, and Hunter Collier of Scheller.
Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Regina Gajewski.
Edwin was part of the Ashley Sportsman's Club, and was an avid sportsman, hunter, and fisher. He was active member at the Saint Barbara Catholic Church. He was always a huge supporter of Jefferson County 4-H and FFA. Edwin was the owner and operator of Edwin Gajewski Bulldozing. He will be truly missed by family, friends, and many members of his community.
A Visitation will be held Friday, November 15, 2024 from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at Saint Barbara's Catholic Church in Scheller, Illinois. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 am with Father Oliver Nwachukwu and Deacon Mark Kabat officiating. Memorials may be made in Edwin's honor to Ashley Sportsman's Scholarship Fund.
