Northampton, MA - Edwin J. Nartowicz, 100, of Northampton, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. He was born in South Deerfield on November 7, 1923, to the late John and Amelia (Sanicka) Nartowicz. He was predeceased by his wife Theresa (Barrett) Nartowicz, and his brother Eugene.

He was educated in Deerfield schools and served in the US Army as a Sergeant in the Armed Guard Company during WWII. Ed worked for the VA Medical Hospital for 37 years before his retirement in 1981. He was a life member of the S. Deerfield Polish Club and the VFW Post 8006, Florence, and a YMCA member.

Ed enjoyed making wonderful memories with his grandsons during the summers and attending many ballgames and dance recitals through the years. The holiday parties and Sunday dinners at his beloved granddaughter, Kristi, and her husband Chad's home, were always cherished by Ed.

He is survived by his sons, James and his wife Gail of Easthampton, Michael of St. Albans, VT, John of Wilmington, NC, his daughters, Theresa Nartowicz of North Reading, and Phyllis Fydenkevez and her husband Steve of South Deerfield, and 9 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

There will be a calling hour from 9-10 AM on Monday, May 13, 2024, at the DROZDAL FUNERAL HOME OF NORTHAMPTON, followed by burial with Military Honors in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, in S. Deerfield.
