Edwin Ragland

Edwin Hughes Ragland Jr. Edwin Hughes Ragland Jr., 74, of Charlottesville, died on Monday, May 6, 2013. Born on March 16, 1939, in Danville, he was the son of the late Edwin H. and Eleanor Barnsley Ragland. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Eleanor Elizabeth Newnam and Mary Louise Lukhard. Ed graduated from George Washington High School in Danville, in 1957. He attended the University of Virginia in the 1960's and graduated in 1993. Ed is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth and her husband, Truxton Pratt, of Charlotte, North Carolina; a son, Michael and his wife, Emily, of Nashville, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Haley, Alexander, and William; five nephews; and one niece. A family graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, Danville, Virginia, at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made for Parkinson's research and sent to Susan Dietrich, UVA Department of Neurology, 500 Ray C.
