Edwin Sage Obituary

Published by Record-Eagle on Feb. 15, 2008.
SAN DIEGO — Edwin Clayton Sage III, 64, formerly of Ann Arbor, died unexpectedly of complications from pneumonia on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in San Diego.

Edwin was born on March 7, 1943, in Pontiac, the son of Edwin C. Sage II and Margaret (Webster).

Edwin graduated from Waterford High School and the University of Michigan with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Edwin was employed as a manager at General Motors Proving Grounds for 33 years.

Following his retirement from GM, Edwin moved from Ann Arbor to Traverse City.

Edwin was an avid sailor and golfer. He loved fishing and hunting, especially with his sons Curt and Marty. He coached the boys' teams throughout their school years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol (Lee Hueston). Ed was the proud father of two sons, Curtis E. Sage and Martin A. (Jennifer) Sage; and was a proud stepfather to Lisa M. (Dale) Kubin and Leslie A. Skora. He loved being a grandfather to Cameryn M. Sage, Ethan C. Sage, Zevi V. Skora and Logan J. Kubin.

A memorial service is planned for this spring in Ann Arbor. Announcement of date and time will be made available.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Edwin's beloved mother Margaret; or The Michigan Humane Society for his lifelong love of animals.
