Edwin E. Sanchez

Edwin Sanchez, lovingly known to family and friends, was born on December 17, 1987, in Brooklyn, New York, and passed away on January 17, 2026, in Ithaca, New York.

Edwin was a creative soul with a love for anime, gaming, and drawing. His imagination and artistic talent were a true reflection of who he was.

Edwin was funny, loved to joke, and enjoyed making people laugh-often repeating his favorite phrase, "Bumblebee Tuna." He also enjoyed collecting knives and watches and had a genuine love for animals, and the outdoors.

Edwin spent many years working at Cornell University, where he found joy in culinary work and valued being part of the campus community.

Edwin is survived by his father, Edwin De Jesus; his mother, Carmen Sanchez; his sister, Crystal Sanchez his brother Isaiah De Jesus; his nephew, Triston Sanchez; his niece, Liyvona Leckey; his aunts, Lily Sanchez and Enid De Jesus; his uncle, Robert Sanchez, and many more aunts and uncles; his beloved furbaby, Skarlet Sanchez; his cousins, Anayah Slaughter, Natalie Sanchez, Deseray Rivera, Benjamin Rivera, Vannessa De Jesus and Joshua De Jesus; and many more loving cousins.

Edwin was predeceased by his grandmothers, Aida Marerro and Emily Rodriguez.
