Edwin Lee Sanders Sr.

Edwin Lee Sanders Sr., known to all as "Pop", age 76, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 5, 2025. Family will have a time of visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Rooks Funeral Home, 109 West White Road in Byron. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at Roberta City Cemetery, 535 South Mathews Street in Roberta. His grandson, Elijah Sanders will officiate.
Born in Byron, "Pop" was retired from First Quality and a member of and deacon at Lighthouse Church. He was considered a "Jack of all trades" that could fix anything and liked to work around his church. His favorite times were spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and being involved in as many of their activities as possible.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 57 years, Glenda Sanders; daughter in law, Scarlet Sanders; grandchildren, Adrienne and Jacob Cowen, Levi and Stormie Sanders, Elijah and Bailey Sanders, Adalei Sanders, and Easton Sanders; great grandchildren, Wyatt Cowen, Jedwin Cowen, Summer Sanders, Nolan Sanders, Stetson Sanders, and Ila Sanders; sister, Betty and Bill Reckling; many more family members, friends, and his church family at the Lighthouse Church. He is preceded in death by his son, Lee Sanders, his mother, Gertrude Cox, and a brother, Jimmy West.
Rooks Funeral Home in Byron is in charge of arrangements.
