Carbondale - Edwin Colon Soto passed away February 26, 2025 in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale at the age of 64.
Edwin was born July 6, 1960 in Ohio. Edwin grew up in Puerto Rico before moving to Illinois.
Edwin is preceded in death by his mother, Teresa Soto, his father, Andres Colon, his stepfather Juan Soto and his brother, Andres Colon.
Edwin is survived his children, Sulimar Colon Santiago of Downingtown, PA, Theresa (Zach) Heern of Gainesville, FL, Taylor Colon of DeSoto, IL, Kaylyn Colon of DeSoto, IL and Kelsey Colon of DeSoto, IL, his sister Mandy Colon of Dorado, Puerto Rico, Grandchildren Leah and Ezekiel Heern and Masen and Mavery Huppert, best friends Paul Cruz and Tony Cruz, his girlfriend Michelle Mocaby and her three daughters Lorissa, Brooklyn, Haylee and multiple uncles, cousins, nephews and extended family.
In his free time Edwin enjoyed playing dominos with his friends and family, playing bingo, cooking, listening to music and spending time with loved ones.
A memorial service for Edwin will be March 15, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Carbondale, IL with a gathering to follow until 3:00 p.m.
The family would like to thank the staff at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for caring for Edwin in his final days.
