Edwin Wilson Sparks

Edwin Wilson Sparks, age 87, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
Born in Altoona, PA, on June 6, 1938, he was the son of the late Wilson W. and Edith M. (Hamilton) Sparks. Edwin was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked as an electrician at the University of Delaware for over 30 years until his retirement. He also owned Sparks Photography and Sparks Electric. From the mid-1950s through the late 1990s, Edwin was a member of the Aetna Hose, Hook, & Ladder Company in Newark.
Edwin liked to read and learn about military history with an emphasis on World War II. He was able to visit many sites and memorials throughout his travels.
Over the past twenty-five years, Edwin and his wife, Lesley enjoyed spending their winters in Hawaii.
In addition to his parents, Edwin was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert W. Sparks and William R. Sparks.
He is survived by his wife, Lesley, of 54 years; his children, Heather Brown (Jeffrey) of Newark and Michael Sparks (Sandy) of Bear.
