Eileen Barr

Eileen Barr, 87 years old, passed away unexpectedly on October 8th, 2023. Eileen was born on September 17th, 1936 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and relocated to Detroit, Michigan with her family at age 15. A graduate of Redford Union High School, Eileen met Larry Barr, the love of her life, and they married in Detroit on September 1st, 1956. Larry and Eileen enjoyed 67 fantastic years together which were spent in Detroit; Fort Wayne, Indiana; St.Paul, Minnesota; and they retired to Sunset Beach, North Carolina in 1996. Through the years, Eileen worked as a homemaker and an executive assistant for Mass Mutual Life Insurance, and the American Red Cross. Eileen enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, and most of all her family.
Eileen is survived by her loving husband Larry, son Larry Barr (Vickie), daughters Cheryl Barr (Thomas O'Flynn), Laurie Barr (Bradley Nyberg), first grandchild Emmalie Barr with whom she shared a relationship more like a mother and daughter (Jeremy Cohrs), and grandchildren Mya Barr (Madison Helms), Olivia Barr (Evan McCracken-Iverson), and Jeremy O'Flynn. In the later years of her life she was incredibly fulfilled by her time spent with her beloved great grandchildren London Pedler, and Everlee Cohrs, and her furry best friend, Alfie.
Eileen's ashes were scattered at the ocean she loved in a private family ceremony on October 13th, 2023.
