Eileen Conan Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ferrara Colonial Mortuary - Orange on Jul. 31, 2024.
We are gathered in the loving memory of a soul that walked this earth with grace and gentleness, Eileen Teresa Conan, who was called to the Lord's embrace on the 25th of July in the year of our Lord 2024. Born on the first day of February in 1944, in the sunny city of San Diego, California, Eileen lived a life as radiant as the place of her birth.
Eileen grew up in the nurturing care of her parents, the late Francis and Mary Ellen O'Leary, and was the shining thread in the fabric of her family. Though she now joins her beloved parents, her sisters Barbara Keane and Frances O'Leary, and her brother Joseph O'Leary in heavenly rest, she leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth in the heart of her sister, Ellen O'Leary, who continues to walk the path of life with the light of Eileen's memory.
Educated in the halls of Rosary Catholic High School in Chula Vista, Eileen's quest for knowledge was insatiable. She further honed her intellect at college, where she earned a Master's Degree, a testament to her dedication and intelligence. For over four decades, Eileen served as a beacon of knowledge and inspiration as a School Teacher, touching the lives of countless children with her wisdom and opening their minds to the wonders of the world.
Her voice, a divine instrument, soared in the melodies of Coloratura Soprano, reaching the high heavens with its range. Eileen majored in and studied music, and it was on the stage, amidst the drama and the lights of small theatre, that she found her joy, performing in many musicals. Her laughter and her love for performance were gifts she shared generously, uplifting the spirits of all who had the pleasure to witness her artistry.
The mountains were her sanctuary, where she found solace among the trees and the whispers of the wind. In nature, Eileen felt the presence of God, and it was there that her spirit was refueled and refreshed. Her spirituality was as deep as the roots of the ancient trees she so loved, and in her presence, people found a peace that surpassed all understanding.
She had a delicate softness about her, a gentle grace that drew others into a serene embrace. Her faith-filled life was an embodiment of the words of the Psalmist, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters." (Psalm 23:1-2, KJV). Eileen lived these words, and in her, we saw the beauty of a life lived in harmony with the Creator.
Her laughter was a melody, her sense of humor a balm to weary souls. Eileen found joy in choral music, the harmonies a reflection of the unity and love she fostered in her community. She was intelligent, gentle, and faith-filled, a combination that made her a beacon of light in this world.
In her journey from the shores of San Diego to the tranquil streets of Villa Park, California, where she breathed her last, Eileen Teresa Conan was a testament to the power of love, faith, and joy. Let us carry her memory in our hearts and live by the example she set, an example of kindness, compassion, and an unwavering trust in the goodness of the Lord.
As we bid farewell to our beloved Eileen, let us remember that in the house of the Lord, she will dwell forevermore, her voice joining the celestial choir in eternal praise. May her soul rest in everlasting peace, and may her memory be a guiding star to us all. Amen.
