Eileen Cottle, a beloved sister and friend, passed away on September 22, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 83. Born on August 1, 1942, in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Ray Mathias and Wealthy Flinders Cottle, Eileen was a woman of remarkable integrity and kindness, dedicated to her family, friends, and community.
Eileen's professional journey began after she graduated from Weber High School. She worked tirelessly throughout her career, starting at the Credit Union of Ogden until her well-deserved retirement. Her passion for service extended beyond her immediate workplace; she served on the board of Credit Women International, contributing to the empowerment of women in finance. Eileen then moved to San Luis Obispo, California, where she continued her career at San Luis Credit Union, yet again displaying her unwavering commitment to her work. After her time in California, she relocated to Hawaii, before eventually settling in Taylorsville, Utah, where she found fulfillment in working for UTA / Flex Trans until her retirement.
One of Eileen's proudest accomplishments was serving an honorary LDS Mission to Holland, where she made lasting memories and connections that enriched her life and the lives of those around her. Eileen's spirit of servitude and her dedication to her faith were evident in all aspects of her life.
Eileen is survived by her brothers, David Lawrence Cottle of Star, Idaho and Richard Flinders Cottle of Phoenix, Arizona. She also leaves behind many nephews and cousins, who will remember her warmth and love. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brothers and sister, Robert Ray Cottle, Anne Cottle, and Alan George Cottle.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Plain City Cemetery. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
