Eileen Culp Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Waite Funeral Home Brunswick on Jan. 10, 2026.
Eileen Bridget Culp (nee Ryan), age 76, of Valley CIty, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Medina. Eileen is survived by her son, Jason M. Culp, his wife, Debra and her cherished grandchildren, Garrett Ryan Culp and Ainsley Grace Culp, who fondly referred to her as "Nana." Eileen's sisters, Patricia Reye and Kathleen Nemec also survive. Eileen and Patricia shared a special bond, and Patricia assisted in Eileen's care in her final months.

Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas E. Culp and their daughter, Jennifer A. Fiamella (Jeff). The youngest of six children born to Thomas and Margaret Ryan (nee Bockmiller), in Cleveland, Eileen was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Rosemary, Margaret and Thomas.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Eileen took great pride and joy in raising her children, and later, retired early to care for her grandchildren from infancy, ensuring they had the best possible start to their lives. Garrett and Ainsley have many happy memories of adventures with Nana as young children, and remember her now with great love and gratitude

As a family, we enjoyed many wonderful holidays and special events at Eileen's home, where she was a thoughtful and generous host, always bringing light and laughter to any celebration.

She was smart, funny and quick with a humorous anecdote and hearty laugh.

Eileen enjoyed water exercise classes at the Medina Recreation Center for many years, and made wonderful friends through her time in these classes. Eileen was a devoted caregiver to her husband in the final years of his life and yet, still made time to be part of important milestones in her children and grandchildren's lives. Eileen was much-loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Private family services will be held Wednesday, January 14 at Waite Funeral Home in Brunswick. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Valley City.
