EILEEN MULHOLLAND DEVANEY, MS, SLP-CCC, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. She leaves behind her husband of fifty (50) years, James, and cherished children, Thomas (Kristen Kelley), Sean (Marcia Caetano), Bridget Nerses (Eric), and Liam (Eric Perez). Eileen was the doting grandmother of twelve (12) and nothing lit up her life more than CJ, Dylan, Samantha, Emily, Victoria, Ryan, Collin, Connor, Danny, Shea, Gabby, and Aidan.

Eileen was the eldest daughter of the late John F. and Jean (Gray) Mulholland, and is survived by her deeply-loved siblings, MaryAnn Dantuono (Michael), J. Kevin Mulholland (Cheryl), Teresa Poplawski (James) and Gerard Mulholland (Yolanda) along with many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members all of whom she held close to her heart.

Born on April 12, 1950, Eileen lived a life rooted in faith, family, and unwavering service to her community. A dedicated speech-language pathologist, she founded S.E.E.D.S. of the Willistons, a center devoted to helping children and families thrive. She served as the President of the American Academy of Private Practice in Speech Pathology and Audiology (AAPPSA). Eileen was a valued professional in the educational field and countless young lives were shaped by her compassion, her expertise, and her belief in each child's potential.

A former President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Willistons, she was an active volunteer and served on many committees enhancing the quality of life in a community she loved. In 2020, the Town of North Hempstead honored her service by adding her name to the Women's Roll of Honor, a recognition she humbly accepted.

Eileen's life was constantly guided by her strong Catholic faith. A long-time member of St. Aidan's Parish and a faithful parishioner at St. Brigid's Church, she lived her beliefs daily. Through her work with the Rosary Society, the Catholic Daughters Court St. Aidan, formerly active in PACE, and her early vocation as a Sister of St. Dominic in Amityville, Eileen's life was a true expression of love in God and in service to others.

Eileen's family would like to express their deep gratitude to the organ donor who gave her the precious gift of more time. It was a year filled with purpose. We are thankful for that time, for the quiet moments, and for the fierce love that never wavered.

May she breathe deeply where the angels come to greet her.

Wake services are to be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 3pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass at the Church of St Aidan's in Williston Park, on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 11am. Burial to follow at the Queen of Peace Cemetery, Old Westbury, NY.

In lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation that will allow Eileen's faith and service to endure. Donations in Eileen's memory can be made to: St. Aidan's School 510 Willis Avenue, Williston Park, NY 11596 or the Sisters of St. Dominic, 555 Albany Avenue, Amityville, NY 11701. Links provided below.
