It is with profound sorrow and enduring love that we announce the passing of Geraldine Essex McGann on July 15, 2025, at the age of 87.

Born on December 21, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York, Geraldine was a woman of strength, integrity, and unwavering faith. She embodied compassion and dedication in every role she held-as a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and a loyal friend.

Geraldine's commitment to service and education defined much of her life. She earned her undergraduate degree from Hofstra University and went on to achieve a Master's Degree in Public Administration. Her passion for helping others led her to a meaningful career with the Town of Hempstead, where she served as a supervisor for Services for the Aging. She also proudly served her community on the Village Board of the Incorporated Village of Island Park, where her leadership and devotion were deeply valued.

Geraldine is survived by her four children: Daniel (Eileen Pryor), Kevin (Coreen Kyriacou), Kerrie (Paul Pearson), and Jacqueline. They, along with their families, helped grow the McGann family into a large and loving one. Geraldine was a proud grandmother to Sean (Lauren Lombardi), Kira, Nicole (Nick Smatt), Michelle, Sarah (Alessandro Cavaleri), Ryan, Charles (Brittany Keel), and Caroline, and a joyful great-grandmother to Gianna, Charles "Banx," Milania, Emma, Henry, and Olivia and her sister Blanche Stover.

Geraldine leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and public service. She touched countless lives through her work, her kindness, and her unwavering belief in family and faith.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that she is at peace, reunited with loved ones, and watching over us with the same grace and love she gave so freely in life.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
