Eileen Devin Obituary
1942 - 2025
Lynn - Eileen L. Devin (Dennehy), 82, of West Lynn, MA passed away unexpectedly
on April 28, 2025, at Salem Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was
the beloved wife of William F. "Billy" Devin Sr. They first met in the fourth grade at the Saint Patrick's Grammar School (Lynn) and later became high school "sweethearts" at Saint Mary's High School (Lynn). Bill and Eileen shared 62 years of marriage. Born on August 21, 1942, in Lynn and raised in Saugus she was the cherished daughter of the late Wallace and Winifred "Winny" Dennehy (Smith). Eileen graduated from Bay State Junior College in Boston and worked for Dr. Brian Dalton's dental practice (Lynn and Lynnfield) for over 30 years. She was a voracious reader, loved spending time at her 7 grandchildren's baseball and hockey games, and "texting" her family and friends on her iPhone. Always kind and caring Eileen also enjoyed playing with her many pet friends Mocha, Luna, Koda, Dixie, and Andy.
Eileen is survived by her husband Bill and her 4 children. William F. "Billy" and Lynne Devin Jr. (Lynn), Daniel Devin (Quincy), David Devin (Lynn), and Alfred "Al" and Kimberly Donovan (Devin) also of Lynn. "Nana" was super proud of her 7 grandchildren (all from Lynn) Kyle Devin, Brandon Devin, Tyler Donovan, Sean Devin, Conor Donovan, Matthew Devin, and Jocelyn Crooker.
She is also survived by her brothers and sisters in law Michael and Gail D'Errico (Devin) of Saugus and Robert and the late Donna Hittinger (Devin) also of Saugus. Eileen will be greatly missed by her "Thursday Night" best friends Maureen Martel (Lynn), Judy McEnaney (Danvers), Cindy Gallo (Peabody), and the late Cathy Barile (Meredith, NH).
Service Information: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, May 5th from 4pm – 7pm at the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt 129) Lynn. On Tuesday, May 6th there will be a visiting hour from 10am – 11am followed by a gathering ceremony at 11am. Directions and guestbook at www.solimine.com

I was so shocked to read this. I hoped to see Eileen at a SMH event in the coming weeks. I have fond memories of her from my years of teaching her children at Lincoln School. My heartfelt condolences to Bill and her family.
