Eileen (Murphy) DiVernieri, 84, passed away peacefully on November 24th at her home in Port Charlotte, Florida, with her loving family by her side. Eileen was born and raised in Mt. Vernon, New York, and was a graduate of Edison High School. After marrying Alexander, her beloved husband of 63 years, she moved to Lake Carmel in 1970, where she raised her family and lived for more than 40 years. Her professional career culminated in her position as an Assistant Manager with Citibank.

Eileen had a love of foreign films and TV, Atlantic City, and shopping. Above all, Eileen loved her family. She always found an opportunity to proudly share every milestone of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was always on the hunt for small, thoughtful gifts for loved ones and was generous with those in need. Each year she sent out handwritten Christmas cards and never missed a birthday or holiday. The warmth of her love was only matched by her fierce loyalty to those lucky to be in her orbit. Eileen was deeply affectionate, thoughtful, and empathetic, and she touched everyone around her. She truly made a difference in the world. Her spirit will live on in all the people she has touched, like a handprint on our hearts.

She is survived by her loving husband, Alexander; sister, Kathie; daughter, Lisa (Jack) Lawrenia; son, Alexander Jr.; and daughter, Karen (Michael) Corrado. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lauren, Gabrielle, Mikey, and Alexander III, and her great-grandchildren, Simon, Phoebe, and Zachary. She was predeceased by her parents, Catherine and James Murphy Sr., and her siblings, James Jr., Mary, and Loretta. She was beloved by her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A private service will be held in New York.
