Mrs. Eileen Sheuerman passed away on Friday morning May 30, 2025 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was sixty one years old.
Mrs. Scheuerman was born in New Brunswick and raised in Old Bridge. She graduated from Old Bridge High School and later continued her education at Middlesex County College where she finished her Associates degree. During her young adult life, she worked for a brief time at Perth Amboy Hospital. She then married her husband Robert and the young couple moved to the Griggstown section of Franklin Township where they would raise their own family. Eileen remained at home for a time to raise her children.
She re-entered the workplace once her children were in middle school and had a lengthy career as an early childhood educator at the Stuart Country Day School in Princeton. She fostered meaningful, lasting relationships with her students and their families, including some that have spanned her entire career. Her twenty-five-year career in teaching is a testament to Mrs. Scheuerman's deep love for children and her passion for teaching. She cherished every student she educated and was honored to have been involved in their lives.
Mrs. Scheuerman traveled as frequently as she was able to. She was lucky enough to visit Italy, Paris, the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador as well as many trips to Aruba. By far, her favorite trip was to visit her native homeland of Ireland with her family. She considered any time spent with friends and family the most valuable and precious.
She was predeceased by her parents James and Evelyn Guilfoyle. She was also predeceased by her son, Kyle Scheuerman.
Mrs. Scheuerman is survived by her husband of forty years, Robert Scheuerman, their children Caitlyn Scheuerman and her husband Tom Malooly, and Ian Scheuerman and his wife Carly Perreault. She is also survived by her siblings, Michael Guilfoyle, his wife Sharon, Eileen's sister Maureen Ferris, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss her depthless love, infectious spirit and her devotion to their happiness.
Visiting will be held on Thursday June 5, 2025, at Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset from 4-8 PM. Services will begin at 10 AM on Friday June 6, 2025, at the funeral home followed by a 11 AM funeral mass at St. Joseph Church in Hillsborough. Committal services will follow at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Mrs. Scheuerman's name to the Lustgarten Foundation at www.lustgarten.org
