Eileen Swartz

Eileen Ann Swartz, age 83 of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on Thursday March 11, 2021. She was born in Toledo, Ohio to Gerald and Colette (Schardt) Swartz. At the age of twelve, Eileen was diagnosed with polio and had been confined to a wheelchair since then. She completed the eighth grade at the Crippled Children's Home where she was treated for nine months. Eileen completed her high school education being home-schooled by a teacher from Woodward High School.

Eileen was employed by Sealtest Ice Cream, A.B. Regenold Insurance Company and then Wright, Russell and Bay Insurance Company. After she retired, Eileen volunteered at the V.A. Clinic, Mercy Hospital and Mercy Family Practice. She was in the Wheelchair Dance Group and her hobbies included knitting, crocheting and adult coloring; she also enjoyed watching television and reading.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Regina; and brother, Norman. She is survived by her loving siblings, Virginia (Dennis) Sturgill, Kenneth (Carol) Swartz, Beatrice (Paul) Bollin and Kathleen Hogan. She is also survived by her 11 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. Although Eileen did not have any children, she enjoyed being with her sibling's children and grandchildren.

Eileen was always very thankful and appreciated everything her parents, siblings and their familes did for her.

Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S Reynolds Rd. on Monday March 15th from 2-7 p.m. where a Scripture Service and sharing of memories will be held at 6:00 pm.; strict covid 19 guidelines will be followed at both the funeral home and at church, to include facemask and social distancing. The funeral service will begin in the mortuary on Tuesday March 16th starting at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Interment services will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
