Elaine A. Forseth, age 94, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Baltic, SD passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Centerville Care and Rehab in Centerville, SD. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the St. Olaf Cemetery, Baltic.
Elaine Alice Forseth was born on October 22, 1930, in Hendricks, Minnesota, to William and Meta (Bahde) Voss and grew up and attended school in the Toronto area. On May 26, 1950, she married Harlan O. “Red” Forseth at East Side Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. After their marriage, they built a cabin on Lake Madison and lived there until moving to Sioux Falls. They lived in Sioux Falls until moving to Baltic in 1968. In 2009, they moved to Sunnycrest Village in Sioux Falls. Elaine was a daycare provider, worked at the mall’s food court, and also worked at the Baltic School as a custodian alongside Red. She enjoyed spending time at their cabin on Lake Madison and cooking and baking for family and friends. Red passed away on Monday April 9, 2012, after 62 years of marriage.
Survivors include her sons: Garry (Brenda) Forseth and Dave Forseth, both of Sioux Falls; her grandchildren, Madi, Ryan, and Cory Forseth great grandchildren, Allie Forseth and Hannah Forseth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harlan O. “Red” Forseth; and siblings, Albert, Leonard, Gerald, Clarence, Norma, and Velma.
