Ellen Elaine Reed, age 79, of Warsaw, went to be with her savior when she passed away on July 18, 2024 at Parkview Randallia Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born to William Yancey and Ellen Burgess on May 29, 1945 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She attended Buckeye Christian School, where she graduated in 1963, marking the start of a life filled with compassion and kindness.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Elaine were touched by her sweet southern charm and genuine love for everyone she encountered. Her warmth made a mark on the hearts of many, leaving behind memories that will be cherished for years to come. Elaine found solace in attending church at Pathway Church, where her faith blossomed alongside her love for reading the Bible. She also found joy in simple pleasures like caring for her grand-dogs and watching classic TV shows such as Murder She Wrote and Matlock. Elaine had a big Christmas spirit and loved to decorate her house for the festive holiday.

She was known for her unwavering dedication and gentle spirit and left a lasting impact through her career as an administrative assistant for several companies. Later in life she stayed at home and worked caring for the household.

Elaine's legacy lives on in the hearts of her surviving family members, including daughter Fran (Brett) Kelsey of Warsaw, one granddaughter along with two great-grandchildren, and one step daughter, Kimberly Lynn Mercado. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings- Betty Martin, LeRoy Yancey and Charles W. Yancey.
