McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels - WarsawVirginia (Ginny) Baker passed away at Grace Village in Warsaw at age of 94 on November 13, 2025.
Ginny was born on June 12, 1931 to Russel and Hazel (Parks) Marsh. She graduated from Atwood High School in 1949. On September 10, 1950 she married Douglas Baker in her parents’ home in Clunette. They shared 66 years of marriage prior to his passing February 28, 2017. They lived at Hoffman Lake most of their married life prior to moving to Grace Village Retirement Community in 2015.
She was a member of Atwood Aldersgate United Methodist Church and Eastern Star.
She was a seamstress and worked in her home for many years and then worked as a clerk at Lowery’s Sewing Center for 15 years. Ginny was an amazing seamstress and one of her passions was sewing for her family and craft bazars. She was a big Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son Jimmy Baker December 5, 2006.
Also, two sisters, Helen Sauer, Mary Hammersley and a brother James Marsh.
Survivors include daughters Jill (Jerry) Gross, Mentone and Jan (Darin) Martin, Warsaw.
A nephew, Jerry Marsh who grew up in the family home. Granddaughters Janell (Heath) Jones, Jenna (Drew) Streicher, Leslie (Ethan) Rutherford, Kimberly (David) Knoerzer, Shanon (Ben) Lyon and a grandson Bryan Martin. Eight great granddaughters and one great grandson.
Funeral Services will be Sunday, November 23, 2025 at McHatton-Saddler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 p.m. with the service following in the chapel, officiated by Pastor Mike Beezley.
Burial will be at Stony Point Cemetery north of Atwood.
