Elaine Mae Seder

Elaine Mae Seder, age 94, of Dayville, CT, passed away May 31st, 2025, after a brief illness.
Elaine was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan, one of five children born to Ralph and Charlotte McDonald. Elaine graduated from Saginaw High School as a member of the class of 1949. She then went to work full-time at the local Woolworth's, to help with the family's finances.
Elaine began dating Ronald Seder during that time. They fell in love and got married in 1952. Two sons followed, in 1953 and 1955, as the family moved from city to city around the country and Ron rose in the ranks of IBM.
Elaine enjoyed living in new places and meeting new people. She often volunteered in her communities and made friends easily. In 1968, Elaine and Ron were blessed with a daughter, and the family was complete.
Elaine and Ron retired in Cumming, Georgia in 1986. They traveled to visit family for many years, and always loved having friends and relatives stay with them and enjoy their lovely home and the boating life on Lake Lanier.
In Cumming, Elaine continued her volunteer work, visiting the elderly and working at The Place, a thrift store associated with her parish. She and her closest friend, Deanna Luscre, also cared for the garden beds at Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
After Ron passed away in 2022, Elaine moved one last time, north to Connecticut, to be near her sons.
Elaine was predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Charlotte McDonald, her brother Ralph McDonald and his wife, Sandy, her brother Dale McDonald and his wife, Jeannie, her sister Maxine (McDonald) Ozerajtys and her husband Richard Ozerajtys, and her sister Jeannie (McDonald) Masar and her husband, Robert Masar. She leaves behind her children Edward Seder (Loraine), David Seder (Debra) and Kimberly Steury (Robert Reagan); grandchildren Kenneth Seder (Rebecca Bornemann), Jennifer Cundiff (Joel) Jessica Seder, Mackenzie Steury and Matthew Steury; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming, GA.
