Elaine H, Weber, 90, of St. Charles died Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Chosen
valley Care Center in Chatfield. Elaine was born October 22, 1933 in St. Charles to
Jacob and Lucy (Stickfort) Behnken. She graduated from St. Charles High School in
1951. Following high school Elaine attended Winona Teachers College, receiving
degrees in music and physical education. She student taught in Cedar Rapids,
Iowa before returning to St. Charles to teach choir, band, and physical education
in the primary grades. Elaine and Glenn Weber were married September 1, 1962.
Following her retirement from teaching Elaine became very involved as a
community volunteer. Elaine had served as Legion Auxiliary President and
Membership committee chair for many years, served as organist and choir
director at her church, St. Matthew Lutheran. She was honored as the Grand
Marshal for the St. Charles Gladiola Festival and as a member of the Winona
County Fair Hall of Fame.
Elaine entered St. Charles Assisted Living in 2013 and Chosen Valley Care Center
in 2021.
Survivors include her three children; Shawn Weber (Sheila Gerken) of Kellogg,
Tracy (Gary) Meyerl of St. Charles and Dwight (Sarah) Weber of Green Bay,
Wisconsin, her grandchildren; Peter, Michelle, Emily, Andrew, Derek, Devin,
Melissa, Heather, Greyson and Owen, great-grandchildren; Jaxon, Parker, Kinley,
Brandi, Willow, and Jonathan. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn
in 2000, two sisters, Mildred Reynolds and Dolores Schreiber, and a brother
Wilmer Behnken.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2023 at Hoff Funeral Service
with the Reverend Thomas Fast of St. Matthew Lutheran Church officiating. A
reception will follow. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11
a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home. www.hofffuneralhome
