Elbert Allen Beard, age 97 of Richmond, Missouri passed away October 29, 2025.

Beloved husband for over 75 years to Dorothy Jean Beard (Schooler) who he married on May 5, 1950. Devoted father of Elaine Marie (Walt) Morris and Gail Beard (Tim) Crowley. Papaw to grandchildren Wendy, Kristopher and Brett (Laurin) Morris, Nicholas (Carrie) Hart, Eric (Audra) Crowley and Dottie (Darren) Letzig; Lori Sandfort and also great grandchildren, Aaron (Marli) Shank, and Mykayla, Chase, Brodie, and Dayne, Allie, Max, Jackson, Charlie, Cru, Ronin and Murphy.

He was born August 12, 1928, in Warrensburg, Mo to John and Gertie (Wheeldon) Beard. Brother of Marion Beard, Eugene Beard, Cledys Markley and Dr. Harold (Pete) Beard. Elbert joined the US Navy during the Korean Conflict, serving from Nov. 19, 1951 until November 18, 1955. He was a self-made Radarman, RD1 E6. He did tours in Hong Kong. Guam, Phillipines, Japan, Taiwan and Korea.

As a carpenter, in civilian life, he built over 40 houses which spanned 30 years. He was a Christian and loved his LORD and Savior and instilled those beliefs strongly as patriach of his family. As a life-long Baptist, he received his deacon ordination on August 25, 1957. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had a natural love and respect for nature he passed on to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Proceeding him in death were his parents; brothers, Marion and Eugene and sister, Cledys; one son in law, Charlie Nottingham; grandson, Kristopher Lee Morris and great grandson, Andrew Kristopher Shank. He leaves behind a family that will miss him greatly.
