Elbert L. “Lee” Dodson, 82, of Colona, Illinois, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to the family.
Elbert Lee Dodson was born March 19, 1943, the son of Elmer and Ruby (Collins) Dodson. He was married to the love of his life, Evelyn Loraine (Hopwood) Dodson, for over 53 years, prior to her passing on August 14, 2025.
Lee worked as a high voltage electrician and journeyman lineman for over 40 years, spending much of that time working at the Rock Island Arsenal. He loved hunting and fishing, as well as camping.
Lee is survived by four children, Bob Dodson and Mark Dodson, both of Arkansas, Kelly Russell of Colona, and Joseph “Joe” (Kristen) Dodson of Moline; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Donna Paxton and Sharon Owen. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Evelyn; his son, Billy Joe Dodson; and siblings, Dale Dodson and Gala Dodson.
