He began his journey into the world of music, which would become the unwavering focus of his life. Elbert was a talented musician renowned for his skill as a bassist. He played with the well-loved Ebb and the Southern Comfort Band and was featured on the Midwestern Hayride on WLW TV throughout the 60s and 70s. His remarkable career also took him to the prestigious Grand Ole Opry and provided him the opportunity to perform alongside greats such as Willie Nelson and Roy Clark at the Ohio State Fair. His contributions to the music scene were honored with an induction into the Northern Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, a testament to his enduring legacy in the industry.
Beyond his musical achievements, Elbert honorably served his country as an Army veteran during the Korean War, where he was stationed in Washington D.C. and proudly served as a member of the Presidential Honor Guard. This experience reflected his commitment to service and dedication to his nation.
