Elda Velia Fernandez, 77, of Missouri City, Texas passed away, and received her angel wings, on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at home surrounded by a loving family. Elda was born on August 4, 1946 in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico to parents Daniel and Alicia (Fuentes) Gutierrez. Her hobbies, to name a few, included cooking and baking, bible study, walking, playing cards, traveling, and spending time with family watching her beloved Houston Astros. She was the Owner of Elda's Salon for many years. This loving and caring mother, "Momo", sister, aunt and friend will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, Elda is preceded in death by her husband, Osvaldo G. Fernandez Sr.; son-in-law, Leonardo Ramirez; an infant brother, Rosenberg Gutierrez; and a brother-in-law, Miguel Rodriguez.
Survivors include her children, Griselda Ramirez, Rudy Fernandez and wife, Gracie, and Osvaldo Fernandez Jr. and wife, Leslie; grandchildren, Cierra, Savannah, Chase, Laney, Giselle and Reid; siblings, Diana Arizpe and husband, Raul, Daniel Gutierrez, Jr., Maribel Gutierrez and Dania Rodriguez.
The Fernandez Family would like to thank Elda's caretakers, Maria Jose Martinez, Gladys Hernandez and Ivania Caceres, for their dedication, care and support during the final pages of our mother's last chapter.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 29, 2023 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
Pallbearers will include Rudy, Ozzie, Chase and Reid Fernandez, Albert Aguilar, Erik Malone and Michael Rodriguez.
