Elden Jensen Obituary

Elden Jorgensen Jensen, 91

Elden Jorgensen Jensen returned to the Lord Monday, February 2, 2026, in Kenmore, Washington. Funeral services will be held at 11am., Saturday, February 28th, 2026, at the Nelson Road Chapel (1849 Nelson Rd. NE, Moses Lake) at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The family will greet friends from 9-10:30am that same day and at the same location. Arrangements are in the care of Kayser's Chapel of Memories and Crematory. Interment will follow the funeral services at Pioneer Memorial Gardens.

Elden was born April 5, 1934, in La Point, Uintah, Utah to Oscar and Irma Rose (Jorgensen) Jensen. In 1948 he moved to Moses Lake, Washington to live with his uncle and aunt Melvin and Remina Jorgensen. He attended Moses Lake High School and loved to participate in football and track. After graduating in 1953 he joined the US Marine Corp. He served for 3 years, with a tour in Korea during the Korean War conflict and 5 years in the Marine reserve.

Upon his return from his service in the US Marine Corp, he married Jenene Caldwell on May 14, 1957, in the Salt Lake City Utah Temple. Together they raised four children. Elden worked for several local farm owners, while at the same time owning and operating a small acreage farm. He thrived in this environment and loved to teach his children the importance of knowing how to work. Agriculture provided that opportunity.

Together with Jenene they raised large, beautiful vegetable and fruit gardens throughout the years. Together they shared their bounty freely with friends, strangers, and family. After Jenene's passing Elden continued to raise a garden until it became too difficult for him many years later.

Elden enjoyed woodworking where he made and gave away many items he personally crafted on a lathe and other wood working equipment. He learned to play the piano after Jenene's passing. He shared that he had always wanted to learn to play the piano, so he went out and accomplished it with the help of his daughter and instructor. He loved to write letters, journaling, playing Chinese Checkers, telling jokes, word searches, calling and talking with family and friends, and creating beautiful paint-by-number paintings that will be treasured by family and friends. He loved to read the scriptures. Elden was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a temple worker at the Columbia River Temple for over 12 years. He loved his Savior Jesus Christ. He showed that love by serving others, feeding and sheltering those in need and freely sharing everything with which he had been blessed with throughout his life. He served faithfully in church callings as a Stake and Ward missionary, priesthood leader, primary teacher, greeter, and as a home teacher and ministering brother throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jenene Jensen in 2002, his daughter Denise Jensen, parents Oscar and Irma Rose Jorgensen, brothers Raymond, Donald Oscar, Alma, and Lynn Jensen and sisters, Mildred Thomas and Martha Henry.

He is survived by his children LaVar and Susan Jensen of Sneads Ferry, North Caroline, MalaRee and Paul Jarvis of Kenmore, Washington, and Howard and Arianne Jensen of Prosser, Washington, 10 much loved grandchildren Katie, Anya, Bryan, Alissa, Jared, Summer, Evan, Chloe, Hayden, Sterling, and 14 great grandchildren Kaden, Everett, Anderson, Adeline, Evelynn, Jackson, Eli, Henry, Brody, Kinsley, Jace, Everly, Marley, and Boston.
