Eldon A. Wurdinger, age 91, died Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Services are 10 a.m., Saturday, November 30th, at St. Bonaventure Church. Visitation is Friday from 2 to 4 p.m., with a 4 p.m. vigil service, all at McKown Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors by The American Legion Hartman Post #84 Honor Guard is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.

In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be designated to St. Bonaventure Church.

Eldon A. Wurdinger was born July 11, 1933, to John and Josephine (Pflanz) Wurdinger in Belden, NE. He attended and graduated from Randolph High School in Randolph, NE, where he was very involved and excelled at sports.

February 16, 1953, he was united in marriage to Deloris (Lori) Lensing at St. Francis Church in Randolph, NE. Eldon then joined the US Army in 1953, where he served his country until his honorable discharge in 1955.

Eldon worked for Equifax for over 35 years. Following his retirement, he became a self-employed handyman.

Eldon was a long-time faithful member of St. Bonaventure Church, where he participated in perpetual adoration for over 25 years. Eldon was also a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, camping, canoeing, reading, gardening, and woodworking. He enjoyed going to countless games with friends and family, both home and away, cheering on the Nebraska Football team wherever they played. Eldon especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He was affectionately known by his grandchildren as 'Grandpa Dinger'.

Eldon is survived by: Son: Douglas Wurdinger of Columbus, Son: Dana (Peg) Wurdinger of Columbus; Daughter: DeAnna (Tim) Brandt of Columbus, Daughter: Denise Marr of West Point; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: His parents: John and Josephine; Wife: Delores; Son: David Wurdinger; Brothers: Clarence, Darrell, Richard, Marlin, Sister: Luella, and Infant brother: Douglas.
