Robert J. Huwaldt, 67 of Orchard, NE, passed away January 31, 2025, at UNMC-Clarkson Tower in Omaha, NE following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Orchard United Methodist Church in Orchard, NE with Pastor Janene Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Orchard Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 p.m. Friday, at the church.
Levander Funeral Home of Elgin, NE is in charge of the arrangements.
Robert John Huwaldt, son of Marvin John and Naola Geneva (Williams) Huwaldt was born on August 16, 1957 at Norfolk, NE. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Randolph, attended elementary school at Randolph Public School and graduated from Randolph High School with the class of 1975.
On June 12, 1982, Bob was united in marriage to Helen Isabella Van Ostrand in Ewing, NE. The couple lived in Orchard, NE and were blessed with one son, John. Bob worked as a diesel mechanic for Holiday Implement and continued when it changed to Lazy T Implement, until his retirement in 2021.
Bob collected toy tractors, and rehabilitated lawnmowers to sell. He loved Husker football and the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed tilling gardens for many throughout the community.
Bob is survived by his wife: Helen Huwaldt and son: John Huwaldt of Orchard, NE; two sisters: JoAnn Anderson of Orchard, NE; Nancy (Dennis) Knight of Mitchell, SD; one niece Tiffany Anderson and her children Liam and Emilia Delawder all of Omaha, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents; parents-in-law Bruce and Joan Van Ostrand; and brother-in-law Bill Anderson.
