Eleanor Jodkiewicz, born on March 29, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York, peacefully departed this world on October 11, 2025, having graced our lives for 87 beautiful years. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and creativity, leaving behind a legacy that will inspire generations to come.
Eleanor's journey through life was marked by her dedication as a domestic engineer, where she poured her talents into creating a warm and loving home. She was a devoted Catholic, drawing strength and faith from her beliefs, serving as a beacon of hope and inspiration to her family and community.
A true connoisseur of life's simple pleasures, Eleanor cherished every opportunity to enjoy her favorite foods. Her love for Chinese cuisine, King Crab legs, and the familiar comfort of Diet Pepsi were small indulgences that brought her immense joy. However, it was her extraordinary talent as an artist, particularly in drawing, that allowed Eleanor to express her innermost thoughts and feelings, captivating the hearts of all who witnessed her work.
Raising a loving family and making the Jodkiewicz house a true home were among Eleanor's proudest achievements. She embraced her role with grace and devotion, ensuring that the values of love and kindness were woven into the very fabric of their lives.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Daniel and Shirley Greenspan, and her husband, Henry Jodkiewicz. She leaves behind her dear daughter, Wanda Krall, along with her husband Chad, her son Robert, her youngest daughter Kristina. Along with many grandchildren, great grand children and many neices and nephews who will continue to honor her memory with every step they take.
Though Eleanor has left this earthly realm, her spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew her, for her warmth, positivity, and boundless love made the world a brighter place.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, 3000 Church Street in Norfolk, Virginia. As we gather to celebrate Eleanor's exceptional life, we remember a woman whose legacy of love and artistry will endure eternally. Rest in peace, dear Eleanor, knowing you have left an indelible mark on all our hearts.
