Patricia Hanna Obituary

Patricia S. Hanna, born on April 26, 1946, in Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, in Norfolk, Virginia. She was 79 years old. Patricia led a life devoted to education, family, and her many passions. She dedicated her professional life to the field of special education, where she touched the lives of countless children. Following her career in education, Patricia managed her husband's dental office.

Her life was also enriched by numerous interests including tennis, golf, bridge, and until recently, skiing. She was also an amazing cook. Beyond her career in education, Patricia served as a guardian ad litem protecting the safety of abused children in broken homes.

Patricia is preceded in death by her beloved parents, John and Lilian Stoecklein, and her sister, Sally Bregenser. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dr. Peter John Hanna, Jr.; her cherished children, Dr. Mollie Gioffre and her husband, Jason, Brooke Hewitt and her husband, Travis, and Scott Hanna and his wife, Lisa; and her treasured grandchildren, Mia, Taylor, Kash, and Hanna.

A memorial Mass to honor Patricia's life will be held at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church on Friday November 14th at 10am EST. Followed by a reception at the Cavalier hotel in Virginia Beach. The family requests that donations be made in Patricia's memory to a charity of one's choice, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others. Patricia's legacy of love and dedication will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege to know her.
