Eleanor (Ellie) Louise Porter (Long), 83, was welcomed into the arms of her heavenly father on Monday September 26, 2022. Eleanor was born in Erie, PA on December 12, 1938 to Donald and Louise Long. Eleanor worked at Travel Centers of America for over 20 years and enjoyed making friends with her coworkers and customers. She especially enjoyed making candy and fudge the last few years there at Miss Ellie's Fudge. Ellie enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and being a friend to anyone who crossed her path. Being firm in her faith, Ellie trusted God and His grace.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Louise, her stepfather, Glenn Johnson and 2 brothers, Donald Long and Larry Toups.
She is survived by her children, Kim (Paul) Osinski of Oklahoma, Joe (Heike) George of Kentucky, William (Pam) George of Pennsylvania and Salina (Matthew) Kennedy of Pennsylvania along with 9 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and close cousins. She is also survived by her long-time best friend, Sue (Dennis) Vorse of Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Allegheny Cancer Center in Erie, PA or The American Cancer Society. Those close to Ellie would like to thank the medical teams at Allegheny Cancer Center in Erie and Interim Hospice Care.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service there at 4:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Jerry Davis. Private interment in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
