ELEANOR ROOSEVELT SAFFIOTI, age 91, of Port Saint Lucie died Tuesday February 11, 2025.
A native of New York, born May 12, 1933, Eleanor made her home in Port Saint Lucie sine 1974, moving from West Islip, Long Island. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Gennaro "Jerry" Saffioti in 2004.
Eleanor was a member of the Saint Lucie Catholic Church for over 50 years; a founding member of the Knights of Columbus Columbiettes and the Port Saint Lucie Business Women's Association and the Italian-American Club of Port Saint Lucie. She was an avid league bowler at Saint Lucie Lanes and an extensive world traveler having owned and operated Travel World in Port Saint Lucie before retirement.
Eleanor leaves behind her daughters, Mary Ann Schiera, husband Thomas; Annette Jennings, husband Larry, and Nancy Smith, husband Philip; Son Andrew "Drew" Saffioti, wife Betty, as well as 13 Grandchildren, Edward Schiera, Lisa (Luke) Ward, Gerald (Abby) Schiera; William Jennings, Alexander (Joy) Jennings, Emily (Kyle) Coven, Christina (Armondo) Cortez; Katherine (Kristopher) Kehres, Amanda (Peter) Berger, Matthew (Stephanie) Saffioti; Andrew (Jennifer) Smith, Christian (Kristina) Smith, Nancy Eleanor (Timothy) Gerow, and 14 Great Grandchildren, Cayla and Grace Weakland, Katherine Schiera; Hazel Coven, Oliver and Violet Cortez; Noah and Amelia Kehres, Lucas, Colin and Preston Berger, Ethan and Elliott Saffioti; Sail Smith, who brought her great joy. She is also survived by her sister Antoinette Bodsford, Elkton Maryland; Sister-in-laws, Helen Prevost and Fanny Saffioti of Port Saint Lucie; Brother-in-law Andrew Saffioti, wife Carol of Long Island; along with many loving nieces and nephews. Family was Eleanor's passion.
