Renate E Nick

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Renate E. Nick (née Gunther). Born in Germany on April 22, 1938, she passed peacefully on September 22, 2025.

Renate and Peter Nick, her beloved late husband, both grew up in Germany, and Renate followed him to the United States in 1960 to marry him while he was serving as a member of the United States Marine Corps.

Renate and Peter built their life together in New York and Connecticut before retiring to The Cascades, where they enjoyed many wonderful years. The couple shared a love of adventure and traveled extensively throughout the world, creating memories they cherished.

Renate is the beloved aunt of Julia Fransson and her husband Henrik, and Stephan Guenther and his wife Silke. She will also be lovingly remembered by her great-nieces and nephew, Lisa and Oskar Fransson and Sophie Gunther. Renate was an active member of The Cascades community, participating in many clubs, as well as playing tennis and bowling. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of Life will take place at Yates Funeral 7951 S. US Hwy 1 Port St. Lucie, FL 34952 with a gathering at 10:30 A.M. followed by a service from 11A.M to 12P.M. In lieu of flower donations in Renate's name can be made to:
