Eleanor Josephine Stelma

Eleanor Josephine (Voyten) Stelma, 88, of Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in Rose Haven Personal Care Home, Indiana. She was born in Lucernemines on June 3, 1937, to the late Frank and Alda (Mucci) Voyten.
Eleanor was a 1955 graduate of Laura Lamar High School. She was a teacher's aide in the Indiana Junior. High School before working for I.U.P. as a secretary for the Graduate School until her retirement in 1997. She was a proud member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Parish She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, served as a eucharistic minister, sat on the Evangelization and Liturgy Committees, as well as a past member of the church council. Eleanor was also an associate of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Baden, Pa.
She enjoyed knitting, needlework, reading, traveling and spending time with her friends and family.
Surviving Eleanor is her husband of 69 years Victor A. Stelma, her children, Rose Mary Stelma of NC, Michele (Bill) Carey of NY, Barbara (Rob) Frasher of VA, and Vicki Stelma of Indiana, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a sister Carolyn (Bob) Choma of Homer City, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by a grandson David Frasher, a brother Francis Voyten and a son-in-law Charles Manges.
Friends will be received by the family on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the Bowser Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. Additional visitation will be held in the narthex of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Parish, 200 Clairvaux Drive, Indiana, on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, with Father Jonathan Ulrick, OSB, Cap. as celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery Mausoleum.
