Eleanor Tegenborg Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 14, 2025.
Our matriarch, Eleanor Tegenborg, born January 13, 1927, joined her husband in heaven with Jesus on Thursday, October 9, 2025. After only 67 days apart, their eternal lives continue together.
Eleanor, or affectionately called Ellie, Mom, Sis, or her greatest pride - Nana, was a strong, independent, and empathetic fixture in the lives of all who knew her. A fierce patriot, she often boasted about her late husband's and brother's service, and her own work championing causes that supported her country and community. Her compassion led her to financially support Tunnels to Towers, Wounded Warriors, and especially The Shriner's Children's Hospital. She often recalled happy memories made with the Zembo Temple in Harrisonburg, Pennsylvania, as well as good times with her Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile chapters.
Nana enjoyed a good party, great swing music and dancing, knitting beautiful sweaters, and a "scotch on the rocks". She never left you wondering what she thought or how she felt. And, if she loved you, you knew it.
Proud of four generations, Ellie is survived by her daughters Lynn Vorpagel (Dean) and Susan Price (Allen); grandchildren AJ Price (Ashley), Joy Vorpagel Laurence (Noah), Jon Vorpagel (Juliana), and Samantha Price Campbell (Jeff) and great-grandchildren, whom she knew well, Carly, Max, Tegen, Evelyn, Twain, Jameson, Lincoln, Julian, Quinn, Nolan, Josephine, and Bennett.
We, her family and friends, will miss her. However, Our God is merciful, and though our hearts are broken, we rejoice in the truth of His promises.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 17th at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Rd., Amelia Court House, VA 23002.
