Born Eleanor A. Kovacik on December 21, 1932 in Drexel Hill PA to Charles and Sophie (Marec) Kovacik. Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, her brother Frank and sister Helen (Ochadlick). Eleanor and Kenneth Terry (d. July 2012) married on September 16, 1950 and she moved to Glen Moore Pennsylvania where they raised four children. She is survived by 3 of her children, Kenneth A. Terry and wife Annawyn, Gary Terry and wife Laura both of Glenmoore, and Jean M. Crider and husband Charles of Princeton NJ and Brenda L. Deihm (d. Jan 2019) and husband, John, of Mohnton. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Eleanor took meticulous care of the home and provided private space for family, grandchildren, and their friends to grow, play, learn, and explore. Discipline and perfection showed in her daily work and projects with creativity expressed in her beautiful sewing, delicious baking, nourishing comfort food and holiday decorations. Through the years she worked part-time at Langoma Garment Factory in Langoma, Burroughs in Downingtown, and lastly at National Liberty in King of Prussia. Side by side with her husband of 63 years and with her sons she maintained and managed the family home. Her joy showed in her green thumb in her flower and vegetable gardening: peonies to forsythia, rhubarb to zucchini and even more so in her encouraging care and growth of her many grandchildren.
Eleanor and Kenneth enjoyed long drives exploring much of Pennsylvania, through Delaware, Tennessee and Florida. She kept detailed journals. Eleanor had a fabulous memory for names of people she met, just one time or many times, this gave her a sweet connection to her community in many restaurants and other places. She appreciated people for their work and kindness wherever she went.
Eleanor believed strongly in the Catholic faith and lived full life of 93 years until December 28, 2025, passing with her family by her side. She will be greatly missed yet remembered for her gift of love.
Private family burial will be on January 24, 2026 at Fairview Presbyterian Church with Catholic Mass Intention at St Peters Church to be scheduled in 2026.
