Elena Maria Hinton, 50, of Gulfport, MS, passed away November 26, 2024.
Elena was born August 02, 1974, to John Hinton and Cheryl Evans in Gulfport, MS. Elena graduated from Gulfport High School. She attended Tuskegee University, The University of Alabama, Alabama A&M, and Grand Canyon University. She received her bachelor's degree from University of Alabama and her master's from Alabama A&M.
Elena was committed to growing in her profession as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She was a light of love, generosity, and understanding. Her lifelong love for guiding people through their own emotional challenges and personal tragedies shaped her career path. Her education and accreditation enabled her to provide a distinct and compassionate therapeutic approach, influencing many lives with her perceptive advice and sincere encouragement.
Beyond her professional practice, Elena's commitment was unwavering. In every encounter, her sincere empathy and will to change the world were apparent. She gained the respect and admiration of friends, coworkers, and clients equally by approaching everyone she encountered with an open heart and a dedication to their well-being.
Elena left behind a legacy of optimism, fortitude, and the value of kind treatment. In addition to assisting people in their healing and personal development, her work encouraged others to live more compassionately and understandingly. Everyone who had the honor of knowing and working with her will miss her light and devotion very much.
Elena was an avid sports fan especially of her The University of Alabama football team Roll Tide! She enjoyed baking, playing the slot machines, bingo and tailgating. Elena was known as the "Cake Therapist" as she found relief in whipping up cakes and cupcakes.
Elena was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, cousin, and friend. Her legacy will live on through her children, family, and friends.
Elena was preceded in by death by her parents John Hinton; Cheryl and Wilson Evans; maternal grandparents Edward and Eugenia Jones; and paternal grandparent Laura Parish McLeod
She is survived by her children Maria Stewart and Jayceon Fairley both of Gulfport, MS. Her sisters Angella Quince (Mitchell); Tracy Hinton; Gayla Evans-Jordan; and Sharle Johnson all of Gulfport, MS. Sunny Martin (Ramon) of Baton Rouge, LA. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, friends, and clients. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
While our hearts are broken from this sudden loss, we are comforted knowing that Elena's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. This is a reminder of the profound impact and dedication that one dedicated and loving individual can have on the world.
