Elena C. “Winnie” Orr, age 55, of Dubuque, IA, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 23, 1968, in the Philippines, the daughter of Benjamin and Rosita (Manao) Celebrado. Elena attended school in the Philippines. On October 11, 2004, she was united in marriage to Alan Orr in the Philippines. In 2010, Elena moved to the United States. She was employed with Orr Dozer Service, the Q Casino, and most recently with CJ Moyna & Sons as a heavy equipment operator. Elena enjoyed cooking, gambling, dancing, singing karaoke, and socializing with friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and her smile could light up the room. She will be greatly missed by all who know her.
Survivors include her loving husband, Alan; children: Bryan and Darwin Celebrado; stepdaughter, Liezel (Bob) Kaufman; seven grandchildren; her mother, Rosita Celebrado; her siblings: Riza (Pete) Johanning, Benjamin Celebrado, Jr., Rebecca (Nicholas) Flesch; brother-in-law, Carl (Jane) Orr; sister-in-law, Pam (Bob) Kauffman; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Elena was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Celebrado.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Fr. Mark Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Bagley Cemetery, Bagley. Family and friends may call on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is entrusted with her care.
