Elena Poblete Obituary

Elena was born in 1949 in Baleno, Masbate City, Philippines, the daughter of the late Cayetano and Cayetana Rapsing. She earned her bachelor's degree in public administration from Centro Escolar University. Elena was a member of Nativity Catholic Church in Burke, VA. She enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping, and spending time tending to her garden. Elena also enjoyed traveling, exercising, sewing, and watching movies. She always kept in touch with her family back in the Philippines. Most of all she loved hosting family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren.
She married Jose "Joe" Manuel Poblete on May 30, 1974, in Masbate City, Philippines.
Elena is survived by her husband, Joe; daughters, Sharon Omps (Justin), Joselle Duncan (Callum), Cheryl Poblete (Fabrizio Torrico); son, Joe Poblete (Hillary); grandchildren, Robin, Penelope, Charlotte, Finnbar, and Lachlan and her sister, Lilia Rapsing.
In addition to her parents, Elena is preceded in death by her seven siblings.
A mass will be held for Elena on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 10 am at Nativity Catholic Church in Burke, VA.

Oh my dearest friend, our hearts break for you and your family! What a special lady she was and what a blessing you all have had in your life to have been able to share your lives with her. May you all know we are thinking about you and pray for healing. I have a strong belief in God and know she will be in good hands now as she continues to watch over you all!
