Onile Bishop Obituary

Onile was born November 22, 1929 in Winchester, a daughter of the late Russell C. Miller and Eithel Sirbaugh Miller. She was the owner/operator of Crossroads Grocery and she also worked for the Shenandoah Apple Corporation prior to retirement. She was a member of Old Bethel United Methodist Church and also attended Winchester Church of God. She was a member of the Stephens City Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by her children, Barbara G. Hummer (Lynwood) of Winchester, William D. Griffith Jr. (Sue) of Winchester, Marty L. Griffith (Tanya) of Winchester; grandchildren, Kim C. Strawderman, William E. Griffith, Melissa Mason, Mary Cates; and great grandchildren, Chad, Kevin, Aiden, Emma, Amalia, Susan, Sarah, Kaitlyn, and Karley.
Along with her parents, Onile was preceded in death by her husbands, William D. Griffith Sr. (1989), Frank W. Bishop (2019); and siblings, Robert Miller, Linda Ramey, and Beatrice Benson.
The family will receive friends Monday, June 2, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Paul Campbell officiating. Burial will be private at Mount Olive Cemetery.
The family would like to recognize Blue Ridge Hospice and Spring Arbor for their dedication to Mom's care. All your kindness and compassion did not go unnoticed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Blue Ridge Hospice at 333 W Cork Street Winchester, VA 22601.
