Elfriede Cleary Obituary
Elfriede Cleary, age 83, formerly of Overton, PA, passed away on Monday morning, October 21, 2024, at the Highlands Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Laporte, PA.
Elfriede was born on October 22, 1940, in Munich, Germany, a daughter of the late Ludwig Dillinger and Clara Dill. She married David Michael Cleary and he predeceased her on December 31, 2023.
She worked as an antique dealer for several years.
She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers. She also enjoyed her pet cats, especially Molly Malone. She was a longtime animal activist and supported many refuges and sanctuaries.
Elfriede and Dave moved to Sullivan County in 2003.
She was a member of St. Basil’s Catholic Church, in Dushore, PA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Basil’s Catholic Church in Dushore, PA, on Friday, October 25, 2024, At 11:00 AM with the Rev. Thomas J. Major, presiding. Interment will follow in St Basil’s Cemetery, Dushore, PA, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband Dave.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614
