Eli S. Lapp, 87, formerly of Akron, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Evergreen Estates Retirement Community. Born in Gordonville, Eli was a son of the late David Y. and Ada S. (Stoltzfus) Lapp and the loving husband of 47 years to Marilyn J. (Good) Lapp until her passing in 2010.
Eli was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a well-skilled carpenter and craftsman. Eli worked in construction and remodeling all his life, including several years with Rich Maid Kabinetry of Myerstown. He was a member, usher, and former trustee of the Hope United Methodist Church in Ephrata.
Eli is survived by sisters, Naomi (late Levi Esh) and Lena (late Benuel King) both of Millersburg; brothers Leon Lapp (Ruthie) of Gap and Ben Lapp of Sarasota, FL; sisters-in-law, Annie Lapp of Gap, Katie King of Gordonville, and Emma Lapp of Strasburg. Eli was predeceased by brothers, Henry, David, and Emanuel; and sisters, Rebecca Beiler, Sarah Stoltzfus, Anna Mary and Katie Lapp.
A Viewing will be held on Thurs., Nov. 7th from 12p.m. to 1p.m. at Gravenor Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., 100 W. Main St., Ephrata and the Funeral Service will begin at 1p.m. Interment will follow in Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery, East Earl.

Eli, you have made your final march down the lonely dusty trail. You are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final bugle has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation“s defender. Farewell fellow veteran.
