Elia Pando Polanco, 93 passed away January 15, 2025, in Hobbs, New Mexico surrounded by family. Elia was born on August 06, 1931, in El Mulato, Chihuahua Mexico to Manuela Saenz and Pilar Pando.
Elia married Manuel Polanco on November 27, 1950, in El Mulato, Chihuahua. She was blessed with 10 children Elida Montoya of Eunice, New Mexico, Irma and Pundo Fernandez of Hobbs, New Mexico, Ilda Mendoza of Hobbs, New Mexico, Maria-Elena and Luis Sanchez of Lubbock, Texas, Sergio and Francis Polanco of Midland, Texas, and 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Elia was preceded in death by her parents, and 3 brothers, 5 children, 1 grandchild, and 1 great grandchild.
She is survived by her siblings Eva Urias of Douglas, Arizona, Enrique & Irene Pando of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Elinardo Pando of Plains, Texas, her children Elida, Irma (Pundo), Ilda, Maria-Elena (Luis), and Sergio (Francis), 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Elia was a member of Our Lady of Guadelupe Catholic Church. Elia enjoyed knitting, sewing, and crocheting. She also loved taking care of her gardening, watering her plants and taking care of her trees. Elia loved having lunches with her family and especially her grandkids. The family would like to extend their gratitude to her caregivers Tina Mendoza and Hortencia for the excellent care they provided along with their friendship to Elia.

A Elia le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, 3 hermanos, 5 hijos, 1 nieto y 1 bisnieto.
Le sobreviven sus hermanos Eva Urías de Douglas, Arizona, Enrique y Irene Pando de Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Elinardo Pando de Plains, Texas, sus hijos Elida, Irma (Pundo), Ilda, María-Elena (Luis) y Sergio (Francis). 13 nietos y 25 bisnietos y 8 tataranietos.
Elia era miembro de la Iglesia Católica Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. A Elia le gustaba tejer, coser y hacer crochet. También le encantaba cuidar su jardín, regar sus plantas y cuidar sus árboles. A Elia le encantaba almorzar con su familia y especialmente con sus nietos. La familia desea extender su agradecimiento a sus cuidadoras Tina Mendoza y Hortencia por la excelente atención que brindaron junto con su amistad hacia Elia.
